See how a Loyola degree helped them stand out, succeed
In today’s economy, recent college graduates face fierce competition for jobs and positions in graduate and professional schools. Here are six members of Loyola’s Class of 2016 who definitely stand out from the crowd.
Major: Information systems
Job: Associate consultant at Aptitive in Chicago
Talk a little about your job and what you’ll be doing.
Aptitive is a Chicago-based IT consulting firm with solutions focusing on the management, design, and development of data-centric projects. I will be starting there in June as a consultant focusing mostly in business intelligence.
How did Loyola prepare you for your job?
What I got at Loyola was more than just an education. The people and the experiences molded me intellectually, obviously, but more importantly, they made me into a well-rounded, more competent woman. In every Chicago job interview I had, the interviewers said they could always identify a Loyola student from the others. It made me proud to be a Loyola student.
Any advice for students who will be graduating next year?
Foster as many relationships with your professors as you can. They are so willing to help and have much wisdom to share. I attribute much of my success to Professor Nenad Jukic and Leonard McKendrick, who really pushed me to do more than I ever expected.
