COVID-19 Guidelines

The following COVID-19 protocols have been announced as of April 1, 2022 for Commencement Week festivities. Our preliminary plans include the following and are subject to change pending local public health guidance.

Entry

Our COVID-19 protocols for the ceremonies and events are below:

  • All campus visitors—including students, faculty, staff, guests, volunteers, and vendors—ages five and older must provide proof that they are up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations to attend Commencement and any campus event. This means a person has received all recommended doses in their primary series COVID-19 vaccine and a booster dose when eligible. We are not requiring guests 50 and older to have a second booster.
  • Campus visitors who are not up to date on vaccinations must display proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within no more than 48 hours of an event to enter. At this time, PCR, rapid antigen, and NAAT tests will be accepted. Home tests will not be accepted.

Graduating students will need to display the Loyola Health function of the Loyola mobile app to enter Commencement events. Any student who is not up to date with vaccinations (which includes being boosted when eligible) must also show proof of a negative COVID-19 test dated within 48 hours of the event.

All other guests will be asked to use the CLEAR Health application to ensure a smooth check-in process. Guests will be able to select a “Loyola University Chicago Commencement Week ” option in the “Health Pass – Events” section when opening the application. For general directions on how to use the CLEAR Health application, click here. For those without smart phones, we will accept your vaccination card plus a state ID.

Those 16 and older must also provide identification that matches their vaccination record.

Attendees who are not up-to-date on vaccinations must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of the event to enter. At this time, PCR, rapid antigen and NAAT tests will be accepted.
