The Commencement ceremony for the School of Communication will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019, in Gentile Area on Loyola's Lake Shore Campus.

Click here to register to participate in Commencement. The ceremony is open to all students graduating in spring or summer 2019, and all students who graduated in fall 2018. Tickets are not required for students or guests.

Candidates interested in delivering the Student Commencement Speech should apply by Friday, March 1, 2019. The student must be eligible to take part in the commencement ceremony on May 9. The speech should be three to five minutes in length (approximately 700-850 words) and should reflect on the experiences of graduates at a Jesuit university. Interested candidates should file a letter of intent, along with a draft of their speech, and a brief resume to the following:

Please include a daytime phone number and e-mail address where you may be contacted during the semester. The Commencement Committee will notify the selected student in late March.

Once a student has registered to participate in Commencement, they will receive information for purchasing regalia through Josten’s. Regalia pick-up will be at the Grad Fairs on the following dates:

Wednesday, April 3, 2019: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Tuesday, April 16, 2019: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Students may pick up regalia at either campus.
