Retail Update: Target, Hampton Inn Retail, and More

RogersEdge Retail Update: The Concorde at Sheridan, Hampton Inn Restaurants and More!

The Concorde at Sheridan

Developers have been issued construction permits for the Concord at Sheridan, the seven story building that will contain a 30,000 square foot Target store, apartments and parking.

The specialty Target will sell items that cater to the needs of the surrounding community, like grocery items, household items, clothing and more. Above the Target, at least 65 units in the apartment complex will be leased to CHA tenants while the remaining units will be leased at market value to the public. Construction is expected to begin late 2017.

The Hampton Inn Chicago North/Loyola Station

The Hampton Inn Chicago North-Loyola Station will fill their vacant retail spaces with three new businesses expected to complete construction this spring of 2018! The RogersEdge Business District will welcome Argo Tea, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and local restaurant called Onward right across the street from Loyola's Lake Shore Campus!

Argo Tea is no stranger to Loyola's Water Tower Campus community, as one of their locations currently reside right next to the Lewis Towers on Rush and Wabash. Known for their impressive selection of teas, coffees, bubble teas, baked goods and more, they have established themselves as the go-to tea brewery in Chicago.

With other locations already existing in Chicago, Raising Cane's menu focuses on crispy chicken fingers, sandwiches, crinkle cut fries, cole slaw and their signature "Cane's Sauce". Customers can order various combination meals to cater to their level of hunger. The company prides itself on taking part in various community engagement activities as well as supporting local student athletic programs.

The third eatery that is expected to open beneath the Hampton Inn, called Onward, is one that will be owned by Loyola Alum Mike Olszewski (BA '86) and also well known as the co-owner of Michelen Award winning restaurant, Grace.

Onward will focus on a more casual, fine-dining experience for customers and will also incorporate a sports bar area where people can watch local Chicago and Loyola sporting events and students will be able to use their student IDs and use their Rambler Bucks.

Aunty Joy's Jamaican Kitchen

RogersEdge Ramblers can enjoy Jamaican food that goes beyond the traditional Jerk Chicken dishes that we are all accustomed to at this family-owned restaurant called Aunty Joy's. Located at 1217 W Devon Ave, customers can enjoy various spicy dishes, from Curried Goat to delecatable all-Spice rubbed Chicken and beef patties, with a selection of sides like rice and beans, cabbage and plantains.
