Introducing The Clare Corner

Loyola Neighborhood News: Water Tower Campus - V3, I1

So often when we are downtown we are caught up in the vibrant city life and forget to pause, look around, and recognize our surroundings.  As a staff member at Loyola, I often find myself hustling to get to Lewis Towers or one of the local coffee shops while I completely overlook the beautiful building that sits right on Loyola’s Water Tower Campus at Pearson and Rush.

What is this tall, curvy, building that blends in with the city?  It is The Clare at Water Tower Campus.  The Clare opened in 2009 and is Chicago’s first and only high-rise senior living retirement community.  It is a 53-story building that includes 248 private retirement apartments.  Belonging to the family of Franciscan communities and physically on Loyola’s campus, the Clare residents are provided with an environment for continued development of the intellect, spirit, and skills required for spiritual growth.

As neighbors that are dear and close to Loyola, the Department of Community Relations introduces The Clare Corner. The Clare Corner will be a special section of the Water Tower Campus neighborhood newsletter that will focus on events and updates relevant to the residents of the Clare.  Through this corner we hope to deepen the connections between Loyola and the Clare.  Please keep an eye out for us in the next issue of Loyola’s Neighborhood News!
