Loyola Neighborhood News: Water Tower Campus - V3, I1

You are receiving this newsletter because you live and/or work near the Water Tower Campus of Loyola University Chicago. The campus, WTC for short, is housed in six buildings located on Pearson Street between Michigan Avenue and State Street. A handful of additional mixed-use buildings and parking lots on Chestnut Street and Chicago Avenue round out the entirety of Loyola’s physical presence in your neighborhood.

In Chicago, Loyola has grown to approximately 15,000 total students whose time is divided between the main undergraduate campus, Lake Shore Campus, 8 miles north and WTC. The WTC houses Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) the professional undergraduate degree programs as well as the professional graduate schools of Law, Business, Education, Social Work, Communication, and Continuing and Professional Studies. As a neighbor or business owner you probably feel the presence of Loyola students, faculty, and staff as your neighbors and customers. You probably know that Loyola leases to Hershey’s Chicago and brought the Chicago’s first Chick-fil-A restaurant to our neighborhood earlier this year.

You may be less aware of the work that Loyola does to connect with the residents of The Clare at Water Tower, or the outreach of Labre Ministry to the homeless, or our efforts towards a better quality of life on the corner of State and Chicago.
