University Travel Restrictions and Spring Break Travel
February 8, 2021
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Ahead of the first academic break of the spring 2021 semester, we want to remind you of Loyola University Chicago’s current travel restrictions, as well as the University’s travel recommendations.
To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our community, all University-sponsored travel remains prohibited, with only rare exceptions granted for essential travel. Academic affairs–related exceptions to this prohibition on University-sponsored travel must be approved by academic leadership in the department, college, or school, as well as the Office of the Provost; all other essential travel exception requests must be approved by the Office of the President. For more information, please visit LUC.edu/coronavirus/travelpolicy.
In alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendations, we continue to advise Loyola students, faculty, and staff to either refrain from or limit personal travel at this time. If travel is absolutely necessary, the CDC has information on travel considerations that can help you take measures to protect yourself and others. Compliance with Chicago’s Emergency Travel Order is required if traveling to or from designated states with a significant degree of community-wide spread of COVID-19.
Please continue to follow the health and safety protocols outlined on the Return to Campus website and follow the recommended CDC guidance on how to protect yourself and others. Additionally, please continue to check our COVID-19 website for the most up-to-date information.
We can all do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep one another safe.
Yours in Loyola,
Thomas M. Kelly
Senior Vice President for Administrative Services
