Provost Message and Video of Return to Campus Webinar

August 16, 2021

Dear Faculty,

I deeply appreciated the opportunity to speak to you at last week's Return to Campus Webinar for faculty. Together, we have learned and accomplished so much between pivoting Loyola University Chicago online in 2020 to our return to campus this fall, which will welcome students and faculty to more than 3,400 in-person class sections.

I am energized by the excitement and enthusiasm shown by faculty as we prepare to return to the classroom and apply the lessons learned during the pandemic to in-person instruction. I also appreciate that there is a lot of uncertainty and anxiety around this fall. Please know that the health, safety, and well-being of our campus communities and neighborhoods continues to be our top priority. And please know that the Office of the Provost, as well as your schools and colleges, are committed to providing as much guidance and support as we can.

Faculty Webinar takeaways

As part of this support, I encourage you to view the Return to Campus webinar recording here or below at your earliest convenience. Key takeaways from the webinar were also collected into the Faculty FAQ for Fall 2021. There you’ll find fall classroom guidelines, health and safety information, and key steps for faculty returning to campus.

I am confident that we will continue to build on Loyola’s 150 years of welcoming students from right here in Chicago and from around the world and providing a transformational education. I am grateful for the work you do every day to help our students, fellow faculty, and staff advance their dreams.

Together in Loyola,

Margaret Faut Callahan, CRNA, PhD, FNAP, FAAN
Provost and Chief Academic Officer
