Fall Transportation and Transit Updates

August 25, 2020

Dear Loyola Community,

The fall transportation schedule has been announced and includes service updates for the start of the academic year.

Intercampus Shuttle
Service will not operate during the Fall 2020 semester.

8-RIDE
8-RIDE service will operate during Fall 2020 semester with reduced capacity and enhanced cleaning. Masks must be worn to board an 8-RIDE van. Service is now available, and rides can be booked by calling 773.508.7433. The service will run seven days a week.

Additionally, Campus Transportation and MV Transportation have implemented a new 8-RIDE booking system. Riders can now book rides and receive true time notifications and alerts on their mobile devices via TripShot. We recommend that riders download the app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for booking ease.

TripShot will replace the OneMV App previously used to book an 8-RIDE.

To learn more about service boundaries, hours of operation, and how to use TripShot, visit LUC.edu/8Ride.

Student Parking Permit
Applications for the Fall 2020 semester are now available for commuter and resident students. Information and applications can found here.

Faculty and Staff Parking Permit
Applications are now available. All parking permits that were active in March 2020 have been cancelled. If you would like a parking permit moving forward, you must apply for a permit. The gates will be lowered, and normal parking operations will resume at the Lake Shore and Water Tower Campuses on Tuesday, September 8. Information and applications can be found here.

U-Pass
This semester, students will be able to request a waiver and opt-out of the U-Pass program for Fall 2020 only. The waiver form can be found here and must be completed by September 4. Additional information for Fall 2020 can be found here.

Information on U-Pass activation dates can be found here. Students who newly qualify should visit the site for distribution information and for questions regarding eligibility, troubleshooting, and card replacement requests. Please note that distribution and replacement pass process information is still being finalized for Fall 2020, so check back on the site often for the most up-to-date information.

We wish everyone a safe and successful fall semester.

Sincerely,

Gretchen Carey
Manager of Campus Transportation

U-Pass Coordinator
