Vietnam Center, Events, and Campus Update
The following are the latest key developments as of March 11, 10:15 p.m.
- Potential exposure update: As previously communicated, a student was exposed to an individual being evaluated elsewhere for COVID-19. We are pleased to report that the test results for the individual under evaluation have come back negative, and the student has been released into the campus community. There have been no confirmed cases reported to date among the Loyola student body.
- Vietnam status: Though the public health situation in Vietnam currently is stable, as a proactive, precautionary measure, Loyola has temporarily suspended our program in Vietnam. Those students have been asked to return home, and based on CDC guidelines, are not required to self-isolate. We are making arrangements for these students to continue their academic programs, which will resume online on March 23.
- Events on campus: Two campus events scheduled for this week, the Climate Conference on March 12-13 and the Palmer Research Symposium on March 13, will not take place as scheduled. News of other cancellations or postponements will be communicated as available.
