Reminder: HEERF Grant Funds Still Available

Dear Students, 

If you have not yet applied for the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Student Share Grant, the online application is available at forms.LUC.edu/heerf.

The HEERF Student Share Grant covers expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Examples include:

  • Food
  • Housing/moving, including expenses incurred from moving out of the dorms
  • Storage
  • Travel, including airline change fees
  • Technology purchases related to the transition to online learning

Expenses must have been incurred on or after March 13, 2020. Lost wages are not considered an eligible expense.

The Priority Application Period runs through this coming Wednesday, June 10. If you do not have supporting documentation, you can still apply by providing an explanation of the expense incurred.

If you have already completed a HEERF application, no further action is needed.

As a reminder, you must have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2019-2020 Aid Year to be eligible. If you did not file a FAFSA, you can do so at studentaid.gov. Once the Financial Aid Office certifies you have a valid FAFSA, you can submit your HEERF Grant application. Additional information on eligibility for expenses can be found in Loyola’s HEERF policy at LUC.edu/heerf.

Funds are expected to be distributed later in June.
