The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce & Quinlan

Quinlan School of Business faculty member and chairperson of the marketing department, Dr. Joan Phillips, pictured left, discussed results with Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Vice President for Communications and Programs, Andree Dolan during class on September 9th.

The Office of Corporate Engagement brokered a partnership between the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and a graduate level marketing class within the Quinlan School of Business. A new initiative recently launched by the Chamber is focused on small business development. Dr. Joan Phillips' graduate level marketing class, Research Methods in Marketing, worked with the Chamber to develop a survey that identified the needs of small businesses in the Chicagoland area. This project was completed in fall 2014.

The Office of Corporate Engagement welcomed Chamber staff members, Andree Dolan - Vice President of Communications and Programs, Demetra Alexopoulos - Director of Corporate Strategy, and Katie Hamilton - Director of Small Business, to the Water Tower Campus on September 9, 2014 for Dr. Phillips' class. Andree, Demetra, and Katie shared findings from a preliminary survey the Chamber put together this past Spring and their hopes for helping small businesses. Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Theresa Mintle, shared that the survey will allow the Chamber to "support small businesses and report on economic activity."
