Austin Wonder

Austin is currently enrolled in the BA/MA Sociology program at Loyola University Chicago. He is completing his Master's Thesis, exploring the topic of police and prison abolition. More specifically, he is analyzing how ‘zines’ function as a form of revolutionary cultural capital for abolitionist movements. As an undergraduate student, he was introduced to CURL through a course in which he had the opportunity to collect data for the Restitution Homes project, working alongside Jack Macnamara. Austin’s research interests include police and prison abolition, revolutionary social movements, public housing, and gentrification. His hobbies include playing guitar, rock-climbing, film photography, painting, and taking care of plants.
