Current Graduate Fellowship Positions

Englewood Women's Initiative

This position is to work and eventually take a co-leadership role with the evaluation research for the Englewood Women’s Initiative (EWI). The EWI is funded by the Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) and is comprised of several social service organizations working together to connect mothers with low-incomes living in the Englewood neighborhood with needed services and programs. CURL designed the original evaluation plan for the Initiative and has been developing and implementing data-collection and feedback procedures since its beginning in 2017. The position requires technical skills in database management and design, excellent oral and written communication skills (for report writing and presentations), and experience conducting interviews/focus groups with front line staff, funders, and EWI participants. The ideal candidate is comfortable facilitating conversations with and presenting to diverse audiences, is committed to a participant-centered, social justice approach to evaluation research, and takes initiative to troubleshoot and present ideas/solutions as the opportunities arise. This will be a full-time 20 hr/wk fellowship position that the grad fellow will be expected to co-lead.

Erie Neighborhood House

This position is to assist in managing a wide-ranging multi-year set of evaluation, planning, and training projects with Erie Neighborhood House Little Village and their Proyecto Cuidate, which aims to create safe spaces to promote wellness in the predominantly Latino/a Little Village community and beyond through case management and counseling, education and empowerment groups, and youth programming. The projects with Erie are dynamic and require flexibility, responsiveness, and the ability to come up with creative solutions to the organization’s needs as they arise. Technical skills needed include survey design, database management and/or development, and evaluation planning. This position will be a part-time 20 hr/wk fellowship position that may be combined with another CURL project.
