Dress codes for dance technique classes

               

The study of dance technique requires a detailed ongoing analysis of placement, therefore class uniforms that enable the require instructor to see the dancer’s body clearly is essential. Jewelry is distracting and dangerous and should be kept to an absolute minimum. All men are required to wear dance belts. All women should have their hair secured up and back. Gum chewing is dangerous and therefore strictly prohibited. 

Ballet

Females: Black leotards and white, pink or black tights for women. 
Males: black dance pants and white shirts.

Ballet shoes required for all.

Modern

Females and Males: Form-fitting black leotards and tights or dance pants.
Classes are conducted in bare feet.

Jazz

Females and Males: Solid colored form-fitting clothing that shows alignment is required.
Classes are conducted in jazz shoes.
