Cristian is extremely excited to join the SMDA office this year as the graduate assistant to Men’s and LGBTQIA Initiatives! Growing up in Monroe, Wisconsin and going to undergraduate school at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Cristian is excited to be in an area like Chicago to meet new people and serve a new population of students. Majoring in Psychology and Minoring in Interpersonal Communication, Cristian gravitated toward student affairs para professional work through his five years in undergrad. Beginning in Residence Life as an RA to becoming an intern in the Campus Climate office, Cristian has gained experiences in various offices to be better equipped to be a resource to Loyola’s students. His interests are in power and identity doing undergraduate research on the identity development of marginalized students in identity conscious organizations.
Cristian is completing the M.Ed. Higher Education Program at Loyola University Chicago.  He hopes to learn about how higher education institutions can aid the community around it and vice versa. He is always up to discuss social justice and hopes to give the support necessary for all of our students.
