Hannah is ecstatic to be joining the SDMA team to support women initiatives and community outreach. She is a recent graduate from the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh, receiving her master’s in social work, with an emphasis in Community Organizing and Social Action. She is passionate about the work of LUCES and its impact on the greater Loyola community. A social worker and community organizer at heart, Hannah has experience both in higher education and social work practice that frame her teachings and educational style and encourage students to build confidence, self-efficacy, and passion for what they believe in. Her experience ranges from grassroots organizing to direct practice. Her most recent experience was with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services and the Office of the Public Defender, providing defense social work for incarcerated individuals and determining service plans for treatment and support.
Prior to becoming a recent alumna of Loyola University Chicago, Hannah was a LUCES Scholar and a STARS Mentee and Intern. She is excited to see the work from a different side. Her political advocacy is still a part of her work, and she is excited to get back to organizing when she has time. When Hannah is not at SDMA, she is training her Jack Russell puppy, Kahlo (named after her beloved Frida Kahlo), to be an emotional support pup!
