About

Pronouns: She, Her, Hers

Tristen currently serves as the Graduate Assistant specifically contributing to Women’s Initiatives & Community Outreach. In this role, she specifically works with students of Loyola University Chicago Empowering Sisterhood (LUCES). Tristen is eager to use her creativity and experience working with women of color in higher education to contribute and develop the LUCES program and its student leaders.

Prior to this role, Tristen completed her Bachelors in Psychology and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Cincinnati (UC). While at UC, she served as the facilitator for their Racial Awareness Program—the campus’ social justice dialogue group. She has also served as a mentor for other women of color at UC as well as in the Cincinnati community. At this time, Tristen is completing the M.Ed. Higher Education Program at Loyola University Chicago. She is interested in researching and implementing ways that higher education institutions can create inclusive campus climates for marginalized students. In her spare time, Tristen can be found cooking new recipes, shopping through thrift and resale stores, or just relaxing with Netflix or a good book.
