Request a Workshop


SDMA offers a selection of 6 social justice workshop offerings throughout the academic year that is facilitated by a SDMA staff member. Each workshop is 75-mins in duration and provides a participatory and discussion-based experience to engage with various theories and exercises, and learn practical skills to advance one’s understanding, learning and growth in various topics. Custom presentations are available upon advance request and in consultation and collaboration with SDMA staff.

Social justice workshops are open to any affiliated program or group aimed to support undergraduate, graduate, professional and/ or adult students at Loyola University Chicago (i.e. student clubs and organizations, residential communities, student employees, classes, etc.).

All workshops can be scheduled upon request and are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Regular workshop offerings require a minimum of 2 weeks of advance notice of proposed event date. Custom requests require a minimum of 4 weeks of advance notice. All submitted requests will be reviewed within 3-5 business days and will be assigned to a staff member who will follow-up with the main contact to review request and coordinate workshop logistics. The requesting group is responsible for providing space and accommodations unless otherwise specified. Please note that requests are not guaranteed commitments until they are confirmed by staff.

All workshops have the option to be requested as an in-person, virtual or hybrid (combination of in-person and virtual) as its delivery method. Workshops that take place after 6pm (cst), Monday through Fridays are only available virtually via Zoom.

All organizations, groups and/ or programs can request up to a maximum of 3 workshops per semester and 1 custom workshop a year.
