  • Dr. Valerie Roberson started her career in higher education as an advisor. She has over 35 years of administrative experience in higher education. Most recently, she served as President of Roxbury Community College of Boston, a public institution with a diverse student population.  During her tenure, the College made significant progress in rates of student success including retention, transfer, and graduation; completed construction projected totaling $70 million; and added new academic programs and student services.

    Valerie was born in Chicago and served in various roles for the City Colleges of Chicago including President of Olive Harvey College and Associate Vice Chancellor for Adult Education.  She has been an administrator at Triton, Joliet, and Heartland Community Colleges and has served on several state advisory committees.

    Fun fact, Valerie’s sister is an alumnus of Loyola University Chicago.
