Jorge Peña, EdD is the Andrew Greeley Endowed Research Fellow, in this role he conducts research on equity and the instructional core in Catholic schools. He teaches graduate students how to use evidence for school improvement, instructional coaching, and taking an equity lens to support students thrive. As a certified Data Wise Coach, he coaches educators in the U.S, Australia, and Chile in continuous improvement practices. Before coming to Loyola University Chicago, he was the Director of School Improvement and Accreditation for the Archdiocese of Chicago where he was responsible for supporting the system on using evidence in the continuous improvement process. He once taught middle school students and was a high school administrator. Dr. Peña holds a B.A. from The University of Vermont, a MSEd from Chicago State University, an EdD from DePaul University, and the Certificate in Advanced Educational Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. “Student outcomes are not predictable by demographic data when educators actively interrupt patterns of inequity.”
