Vanessa Perez Marquez

Vanessa Perez Marquez is a first-year graduate student in the School Psychology program. She previously obtained her bachelor's in Psychology and Spanish from Colgate University. She has worked in educational research supporting projects that assess free educational resources aimed at promoting informal learning. Through this experience, Vanessa developed a passion for dismantling educational inequities that exist in schools, such as for culturally and linguistically diverse learners, and the Puentes program would allow her to do just that. As a proud product of a Chicago Public School, Vanessa is eager to serve as a licensed psychologist and advocate for the rights of all learners in a community similar to the one she grew up in.
