Our center looks to principles of diversity, inclusion, equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression to inform the development of our faculty and staff programming, community partnerships, and academic and co-curricular offerings. Through these efforts, we aim to both improve and promote within our own staff and the broader community, awareness of and appreciation for differences including, but not limited to, race, sex, gender identity, ethnicity, national origin, documentation status, culture, sexual orientation, religion, age, and ability.
CELTS is continuing to commit to providing faculty development programming around Anti-Racist and Social Justice pedagogy so that we may better live our Jesuit mission and respond to and fight against structures of systemic racism that effect our students, our community partners, and our world.

Fall 2021 Programming
The Activist Academic serves as a guide for merging activism into academia. Following the journey of two academics, the book offers stories, frameworks and methods for how scholars can marry their academic selves, involved in scholarship, teaching and service, with their activist commitments to justice, while navigating the lived realities of raising families and navigating office politics. This volume invites academics across disciplines to enter into a dialogue about how to take knowledge to the streets.
