Cathy Buescher

Title/s:  Graduate Research Assistant



Cathy Buescher, a doctoral student in Loyola’s theology department, joined FCIP in Fall 2019 as its graduate research assistant. Her focus will be on collating information on the organization and delivery of Ignatian pedagogy at the 27 AJCU institutions and on developing a repository of research on Ignatian pedagogy for use by the center and its constituents. Cathy's own graduate research focuses on naming and describing the phenomenon of silent forgiveness and its role in dialogical hermeneutics as outlined by theologian David Tracy. Cathy's tenure in Loyola's doctoral program began in 2013. Prior to that, she worked in higher education administration for 15 years for two other Jesuit institutions on the East Coast - Fordham University and Saint Peter's University. Cathy's passion for all things Ignatian ignited during her undergraduate years at Creighton University, from which she received a BS in elementary education. Her love of teaching continues to this day.
