About
Dr. Rachel Shefner, Assistant Provost for Assessment, Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance, has been at Loyola University Chicago for approaching 20 years. Her doctoral degree is in immunology - specifically the study of autoantibodies - and her most recent work has been in science education, supporting middle grades science teachers through projects funded by IBHE, ISBE, NSF, the Chicago Community Trust, The Polk Bros. Foundation, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She is now focusing on assessment in the higher education space and is the university’s Accreditation Liaison Officer for the Higher Learning Commission.
