Overview
To support Loyola educators’ (faculty, staff, and graduate student) requests for additional expertise and support around anti-racist pedagogy (ARP), the Faculty Center for lgnatian Pedagogy (FCIP) seeks a diverse pool of candidates from which to hire an Anti-Racist Pedagogy (ARP) Faculty Scholar for Summer 2022. This person will critically review and innovatively improve upon FCIP’s ARP programming and services offered to Loyola instructors, particularly the Anti-Racist Pedagogy Certificate Program, which is finishing a pilot year in May 2022. Reporting to FCIP’s co-director, the successful candidate will demonstrate commitment and expertise in scholarly, pedagogical, or practical approaches related to ARP or related critical pedagogies.
Any full-time (tenure-track or non-tenure track) or part-time faculty members with ARP experience are encouraged to apply. This position is for summer 2022. Most of the work can be done remotely. The work can be completed in regular weekly intervals, or in a condensed timeframe during the summer. An FCIP staff member will meet with you to help you map out the timing and scope of the work. The ARP Scholar will receive a $1500 stipend.

- Critically review and propose content revisions to the ARP Certificate Program curriculum by reviewing the current content and using feedback from participants
- Collaborate with FCIP team to assess instructor needs and opportunities to create new pathways for professional development related to Anti-Oppressive or Anti-Racist Pedagogies
- Identify the criteria and application process for a new Faculty Teaching Award in Anti-Oppressive or Anti-Racist Pedagogies
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of anti-racist and anti-oppressive pedagogical theories
- Proven record of using ARP approaches (student comments, syllabus statement, description of activities)

The selected candidate will be notified on May 20, 2022. The start date and hours will be flexible, and the work will need to be completed by August 26, 2022.
