SOTL Workshop Series

As educators, we often reflect on our teaching and look for ways to improve our strategies to enhance our students’ learning experiences. Did you know that you can take those reflections, possibly collect related data, and write about or present your findings? This would be a contribution to an area of education called the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, or SOTL. We want to help you learn more about SOTL and explore opportunities for your own research and writing in this area. We invite you to a three-part SOTL series:

Finding a SOTL Research Match
February 16 - 3-4pm
Join other Loyola educators who share an interest in the Scholarship of Teaching  and Learning (SOTL) to explore ways to launch or continue a SOTL project. At this gathering, you can share your SOTL research questions and ideas for a SOTL project or simply learn from your colleagues about theirs. We hope some will walk away with new ideas or even new partnerships for upcoming SOTL research.

SOTL Logistics and Next Steps
March 17 - 3-4pm
Now that you have a better understanding of SOTL and may be thinking about your own SOTL project, this session will help you get started. We will share resources for conducting background literature reviews, the IRB process, and prime journals for publication.
