Ramblers react

After 33 years, Loyola University Chicago returned to the March Madness stage. The entire University, Loyola alumni, the city of Chicago, and a multitude of Sister Jean fans were electrified by the team’s hard work, last second wins, and team-first mentality.

“To bring the joy to the city and make everybody happy in the city of Chicago is crazy. The buzz going around campus and town, it’s totally different.”
–Donte Ingram
“These kids play with their hearts and their heads because they love their school and because they love basketball.”
–Sister Jean
“Sister Jean does have us going out in the Sweet 16. So we have to prove her wrong.”
–Clayton Custer
“I’ve watched every single game this season. Coach Porter was at my freshman orientation, and it just started from there. This year has been just a great atmosphere.”
–Charles Hwang (BS Mathematics ’20)
“I think we proved, during this run, that we can play with anyone in the country.”
–Cameron Krutwig
“They’ve continued to do it the right way by bringing in high character kids who are also really good basketball players.”
–Harry Rossi (EdD ’85)
“That’s what so special about our team. We’ve got so many unselfish guys, and we have so many weapons...It can be anybody’s night, you know?”
–Ben Richardson
“They just refused to quit...Different guys, different nights. That’s what’s special about this group.”
–Coach Porter Moser
“We lost all of our voices because we couldn’t stop screaming.”
– Ellahmie Blois (BBA International Business ’21)
“It’s been a blast so far. Everyone’s really been cheering on the team. I think it’s brought us all together.”
–Justina Birden (BA Broadcast Journalism ’20)
“The atmosphere at the arena was insane. You could hear the Ramblers going crazy for them. It was awesome.”
–Maria Powers (BA Communication Studies ’21)
“I’m sorry for Sister Jean, for busting her bracket.”
–Marques Townes
