#CalledAsOne Community Prayer

A message of hope

Loyola's Sister Jean shares words of encouragement in a time of uncertainty

"This is the strangest March Madness I have ever experienced."

Only Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, Loyola University Chicago's incomparable 100-year-old chaplain, could deliver such a perfectly humorous and comforting line in a time when the world is struggling to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

While practicing social distancing from her home on Loyola's campus, Sister Jean wrote a prayer for the community that is uplifting and reassuring during this difficult moment. In the video above, she shares her call for all of us to come together and to care for one in the spirit of our Jesuit tradition.
