About

Neva Sills received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Iowa and her BFA in Painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Through collaging painted paper and canvas shapes, Sills’ portraits swim between the poetics and absurdity of historical femininity. Along with collage, her installation, painting, and ceramic works have been shown throughout the Midwest in group and solo exhibitions as well as collaboratively with The Moving Crew. Sills has taught in higher ed for nearly two decades and creates an environment ready for collaboration while exploring the language of materials and the meaning of a mark.
