Focus on Teaching and Learning

August 2022 FOTL Focus Group

Discuss Your Teaching Needs at a Focus Group During FOTL

August 17, 2022, 1:30pm-2:30pm
Beane Hall in Lewis Towers on Water Tower Campus

The Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy (FCIP) has invited a higher ed professional to conduct focus groups for interested Loyola faculty and staff to share their experiences with and vision for the FCIP and teaching and learning at LUC more broadly. Gerald Doyle (former Vice Provost at Illinois Tech for Student Access, Success and Diversity Initiatives & Career Services), collaborated with FCIP throughout the summer on a review of FCIP practices while also reviewing similar teaching and learning centers across the American Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU).

Within a co-creative and co-participatory framework, we value and seek your voice and contributions as we build our 2022-23 offerings at FCIP. To this end, we would like to know from focus group participants:

  • What's working particularly well at FCIP?
  • What would you like to see more of at FCIP?
  • How might we support you to deliver transformative teaching and learning for your students and the LUC community?
  • What are we missing that we're not (and should be) focusing on?
  • Other issues and concerns that matter most to you.

The focus groups will take place from 1:30pm-2:30pm in Beane Hall in Lewis Towers on Water Tower Campus. FCIP will use information from the focus groups to enhance our programming. Names and identities of participants will not be shared. Stay for as long as you are able, and receive an extra entry in our Loyola swag raffle! If you have any questions, including if you would like to share feedback but are unable to attend the focus group time, please contact FCIP Co-Director Jessica Mansbach at jmansbach@luc.edu. If you would like to learn more about Doyle's experience in higher education and current appointments/projects, please see his bio.
