What’s one highlight from your first semester of college?

Getting to know so many wonderful people in my building and classes. I ended up being lifelong friends with seven others from my first-year residence hall floor.

What do you wish you’d known when you started college?

That you get out what you put in. Loyola is a space with an incredible amount of opportunity and resources, but you’ll need to take the first step a lot of the time. I wish I had learned that earlier during my time at my own undergrad.

What do you like about advising first and second year students?

The fluidity and change. It’s my absolute favorite part of this job to see students try new things, build independence, and come into their own in their first two years. It’s an absolute privilege to watch that process happen as an advisor.

What’s your favorite thing about Loyola?

The students! I think there is a real sense of humanity and purpose in our student body and it creates a wonderful community.

What’s your favorite thing about Chicago?

The summer in Chicago is unbeatable. Feeling the city come alive after cold and windy winters reminds me why it’s such a joy to be here (especially by the lake).

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Rock climbing, golfing, and cooking are my three main hobbies, but mostly I just hang out with my wife, Liv.
