Advising Notes
Important Notes for U.S./Europe Double Degree majors from Advising:
- Please note: You cannot officially declare this major until after your first semester. To be considered for this degree, you will need to complete an application.
- If you have a math placement of 100, please reach out to us to discuss course options for this degree as that may impact your ability to complete this degree in the traditional four years.
- It is important to know that business majors and pre-health tracks are not compatible programs and will likely mean that you would need to take several classes at Loyola during the summer (or delay graduation/graduate school) to meet all requirements.
- If you are interested in a minor that requires calculus-track math (such as statistics, economics, or finance) or are unsure, please respond to your registration email to get more directions on your math class recommendation.
- If you earn a 4 or 5 on your AP Statistics exam, do not enroll in ISSCM 241 or STAT 103.
- If you earn a 4 or 5 on your AP Microeconomics exam, do not enroll in ECON 201.
- If you earn a 4 or 5 on your AP Macroeconomics exam, do not enroll in ECON 202.
- Don’t forget to check the AP/IB/transfer guide to ensure you know if you have any incoming credit that will count towards your Core requirements.
- Please respond to your registration email for alternative course recommendations if you receive AP/IB/transfer credit for any major course recommended.
- Please keep in mind that the Quinlan School of Business offers many courses at the Water Tower Campus (You can identify these classes because LOCUS will show WTC as the campus and they will be held in Schreiber, Corboy, School of Communication buildings). Be sure to leave at least an hour between classes if you are traveling between the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses.
