Meet the Team
Welcome Letter from First and Second Year Advising (FSYA) Director
Welcome to Loyola. We are thrilled that you are joining us. As you transition to your first year of college, there is much to be both excited and nervous about. Between now and late August there is a lot to do. The job of the First and Second Year advising team is to assist you with your academic transition, and we will be with you every step of the way. Here are my top 5 tips for making the most of Loyola University Chicago Orientation:
- Read everything that is sent to you.
- Watch all of the videos that we share with you.
- Complete all of your pre-registration tasks as soon as you can.
- Take your placement exams seriously and give yourself time to complete them to your highest level of aptitude.
- Listen, take notes, and ask questions.
My final piece of advice is to savor this time. It will be exciting, scary, overwhelming and joyous. Lean into every part of the experience. These next four years will pass quickly.

Alongside one-on-one appointments, throughout the summer you will be supported by a team of Academic Advisors to answer any questions you may have. Check out a photo below of each team!
