What are some of your interests and involvement outside the Gannon Scholars program?

At Loyola, I have been involved in student organizations through being a LUCES (Loyola University Chicago Empowering Sisterhood) mentee, coordinating a CHAARG health and fitness small group, and participating in campus ministry opportunities. I also work as a Tour Guide for the Admissions Office and will work as a Writing Tutor for the Loyola Writing Center. My interests include working out, hiking, playing the violin, reading, learning to speak Spanish, trying new food, cooking, singing, and dogs!

How have you benefited from the Gannon Scholars program?

The Gannon Scholars program has given me a place to call home. Growing up, I never had that girl group who supported me, cared for me, and loved me unconditionally. With Gannon, I have "sisters" there for me every step of the way, even when it gets rocky. Gannon has empowered me to stand up for what I believe in, love others no matter what they believe in, and speak for those who are not able.
