What are some of your interests and involvement outside the Gannon Scholars program?

Outside of the Gannon Scholars program, I am a part of the Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs community (SDMA) through my involvement in the program Students Together Are Reaching Success (STARS). This fall I will be one of the Undocumented Student Programs Intern that works to educate the Loyola community on supporting undocumented students through facilitating allyship training sessions and developing resource newsletters.

How have you benefited from the Gannon Scholars program?

The Gannon Scholars program has gifted me with a community of powerful women that are driven by a passion for social justice. My fellow Gannons are like my older sisters in a sense because they are always supporting and guiding me. Also, thanks to the Gannon Scholars program I have a better understanding of how to conduct my research on a topic that I am passionate about. Through my involvement in this program, I have been challenged intellectually and I have grown into a leader.
