What are some of your interests and involvement outside the Gannon Scholars program?

Outside of the Gannon Scholars program, I'm interested in mental health, queer issues, and theater. On campus, I've been involved with Rainbow Connection and stage design projects. Off campus, I volunteer as a crisis counselor providing free mental health services through Crisis Text Line.

Why is the mission of women's leadership important to you?

Through our weekly Gannon meetings and my other interactions with Gannon Scholars, I'm always learning about new social justice topics. Especially at a Jesuit institution, the Gannon program is an excellent way to promote collaboration between education and activism.

What are you interested in researching? Why?

I'm interested in examining the experiences of trans* individuals with eating disorders. Right now, only minimal literature exists regarding best practices for treating this population, and by building new knowledge, I hope to improve the quality of healthcare trans* folx receive.
