What are some of your interests and involvement outside the Gannon Scholars program?

Outside of the Gannon Scholars program, I am interested in analyzing healthcare disparities, intersectional feminism, and mental health promotion. On campus, I am a research assistant for the Activity Matters Lab which promotes policy and practice recommendations for reducing health disparities among youth. Off-campus, I work as a life enrichment assistant in an assisted living/memory care home.

How have you benefited from the Gannon Scholars program thus far?

So far, Gannon has given me the ability to feel confident in promoting change among various issues. Being surrounded by driven peers, I have learned about many social justice dilemmas and strategies for solving them. As an out-of-state student, Gannon has also provided me with a support system. This community has given me a space to find my voice in advocacy while feeling heard and uplifted.
