The CDC estimates that 5.8 million Americans were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2020, and the number of Alzheimer’s cases is projected to nearly triple to 14 million people by 2060. For this project, an educational intervention will be developed for family members/caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's. Participants will complete pre- and post-test evaluations of their knowledge regarding best communication practices for patients with Alzheimer’s and their confidence in their ability to apply these methods. This project will demonstrate the impact of nurse-driven education to improve healthcare, family relations, and communication for Alzheimer's patients.
