Graduate Studies: MEd Elementary Education
- LU CHOICE is for persons seeking to earn their certification in Elementary Education. All members will be enrolled in the master’s degree in Elementary Education at Loyola University Chicago. Classes are offered late afternoon/early evenings.
- The MEd in Elementary Education is designed for individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of children. Graduates of the program will receive a Professional Educator License (PEL) with elementary and ESL endorsements with the potential to add bilingual, learning behavior specialist (LBS1) specialists, and middle grades endorsements.
- This field-based program is designed for individuals seeking to secure an initial teaching license to teach in elementary schools, whether that be in general education, special education, or ESL and bilingual education
- Persons interested in receiving the majority of their field experiences in a Catholic School setting in the city of Chicago. Each Fall and Spring members are placed in a Catholic School in the city of Chicago to complete their required field experiences. The program can also connect members to schools looking to hire persons for full time classroom positions. The work done at a school, as an employee, can be counted toward the field experience requirement. If you are currently working in a Catholic school, it is not necessary to move to another school. If you are working in a classroom setting, that work can be counted toward your field experience requirement.
