Faculty Member of the Year - Dr. Emily Anderson!
The Graduate School is happy to announce that Dr. Emily Anderson, Associate Professor in the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics at the Stritch School of Medicine, has been named Graduate Faculty Member of the Year. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the Graduate School in the areas of research, teaching, and service. The Council of Graduate School Programs selected Dr. Anderson for this award because of her extraordinary work as a teacher, researcher, and mentor. She is an excellent example of a scholar in service of others.
Dr. Anderson has been part of the Loyola faculty for the last decade and is critical for the teaching of research ethics on the Health Sciences Campus. Her publication records are exceptional and she has earned significant funding for her research through external grants and contracts, including the NIH Fogarty Grant. To support the student body and offer service to the university, Dr. Anderson has spoken on COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and participated in panel discussions on ethical concerns in technological development, besides co-teaching courses on Global Bioethics and the Bioethics of Pandemics and building a course of Feminist Bioethics in response to the requests of students.
For these and other contributions, we are proud to have her as a member of the Loyola community and to recognize Dr. Anderson for her academic excellence and service to Loyola University Chicago.
