Preparing Your Career
We encourage graduate students to explore professional development opportunities at Loyola and beyond. The Graduate School offers opportunities for professional development for students interested in academic careers and non-academic careers through our workshops, which you'll find on our calendar and workshops page. Unless specified, all workshops are free to graduate students.
Loyola's Career Development Center also offers opportunities for all graduate students to participate in the Career Self-Assessment Workshop, the LUConnect mentoring program, and career counseling with a staff member. The Career Development Center also organizes job fairs and recruitment events throughout the school year. These events are an excellent opportunity for graduate students to meet one-on-one with prospective employers!
Loyola’s Career Development Center also participates in the Jesuit Career Center Consortium, which allows students and alumni to receive career services from participating partner institutions nationwide. This is an important resource for those interested in a career in a city or region beyond Chicago.
Loyola's Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy allows PhD students to enroll (when space allows) in an Online Teaching Course, the Ignatian Pedagogy Certificate Program, and other workshops to help improve build teaching and course development skills.
