Move-In Begins January 11

December 14, 2015

Dear Loyola Health Sciences Community,

As we prepare for the opening of the Center for Translational Research and Education (CTRE), I want to share important updates on the move-in process. This is an exciting time for our campus and division as we build on our reputation as a cutting-edge research institution.

We are now in a critical period for the CTRE. Building occupants are beginning to pack and will officially start move-in on January 11. Over the next several months you will see our colleagues cleaning, packing, and moving into the new space. The move will occur in waves over a four-month period.

All departments and institutes who are occupying the building have been notified of their move-in date, been provided specific guidelines, and appointed a move coordinator. Please note:

  • The move coordinator is the single point of contact between each department and the building project management team.
  • Each department or institute is required to pack its own space and should remember: when in doubt, throw it out.
  • Once a lab or office has been vacated, the old space will no longer be available for use of any kind. We will be out of all Loyola University Health System space by the end of April 2016.
  • It is anticipated that each department or institute will have three weeks of downtime during the move. We will do our best to minimize this time and ask for your patience during the process.

We’ve set up a website to provide updates and answer questions about the move-in process at LUC.edu/ctre/logistics. Please continue to check this site for additional information.

Thank you for your continued collaboration during this project. Once open, the CTRE will allow advances in research and improved patient care to be realized through partnerships between Stritch, Niehoff, and the Loyola University Health System. We are excited about this milestone for our campus.

Sincerely,

Steve Bergfeld
