On-Campus Biometric Screenings & Flu Shots

September 27, 2021

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As previously announced in the communication sent on Thursday, September 16, biometric screenings and flu shots will be available soon.

On-Campus Biometric Screenings and Flu Shots
You and your covered spouse or legally domiciled adult (LDA) are required to participate in a biometric screening and complete the Health Power Assessment to receive a $50 monthly wellness reduction premium on your Loyola medical plan contributions in 2022.

Starting Friday, October 8, onsite biometric screenings and flu shots will be available on select dates and times throughout October and November for Loyola University Chicago faculty and staff only at the Lake Shore, Water Tower, and Health Sciences campuses. Click here for dates and times. Spouses/LDAs must visit a Quest Diagnostics Lab or visit an in-network provider to complete their screenings. Screenings and flu shots are by appointment only, so visit the Health Maintenance Institute (HMI) website to sign up or obtain information for completing your screening with your doctor or a Quest Lab. Note: New users can register with site code L773 on the HMI website.

Employees who participate in on-site biometric screenings also have the option to add preventive blood tests for complete blood count (CBC), thyroid (TSH), Vitamin D, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) (for males only) at no cost. Please note: in keeping with the University’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, masks will be required to attend.

Take Advantage of Free Flu Shots
During biometric screenings, flu shots will also be offered at the Lake Shore, Water Tower, and Health Sciences campuses for faculty and staff only. An appointment will be required to receive a flu shot, so please visit the Health Maintenance Institute (HMI) website to sign up. Flu shots for faculty and staff at the Health Sciences Campus are mandatory. Additional details will be provided soon. Enrollment in the Loyola Aetna medical plan is NOT required to receive a flu shot on campus.

If you are an enrolled member in our Aetna medical insurance plan and are unable to be on-campus for your flu shot, you can visit any Aetna in-network provider office, pharmacy, or clinic to receive the flu shot at no out-of-pocket cost. Be sure to confirm that the pharmacy accepts your Aetna coverage before you get your flu vaccination.

Important Note: Flu shots are covered under your Aetna medical plan, not your pharmacy benefit with CVS Caremark. You must present your Aetna medical card at the pharmacy.

If you have questions regarding any of these updates or offerings, please visit LUC.edu/hr/openenrollment or contact Human Resources at benefits@LUC.edu or 312-915-6175.

Sincerely,

Human Resources
