2025 Feast Day of St. Ignatius Mass and Picnic

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Retirees,
Human Resources is excited to announce the commemoration of the Feast Day of our patron, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, will take place at the Lake Shore Campus on July 31. The special experience is created to recognize and celebrate your magnificent contributions that help advance the University’s mission and vision through the delivery of outstanding work, a spirit of gratitude, and commitment to creating and fostering a welcoming and collaborative workplace for all.
We cordially invite you to join us for the 2025 Feast Day of Saint Ignatius Mass and Picnic to experience a day filled with reflection, fellowship, and festivity. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. at the Madonna della Strada Chapel, and the Picnic will follow on the west quad and in the Damen Student Center until 2 p.m.
We’re excited to invite you to a celebration filled with food, refreshments, fun games, and a chance to support the Loyola Employee Emergency Fund.
You’ll also have a chance to contribute to a healthier planet. In partnership with the Office of Sustainability and Facilities, we’ll have Zero Waste Stations at the event to support composting and recycling efforts. Let’s work together to keep valuable materials out of landfills and take a step toward a greener future. And don’t forget: faculty and staff are kindly asked to bring their Campus ID Card to help keep the lunch line moving smoothly for everyone.
Lastly—do you need a ride, or want to get involved? Complimentary shuttle service (as space allows) will be available from both the Health Sciences and Water Tower Campuses. We’re also welcoming volunteers to help make the day even more special. Whether you’d like to reserve a spot on the shuttle, sign up to volunteer, or simply RSVP to attend, online reservations are open through July 11, 2025.
We hope you’ll join us—whether you come for Mass, the Picnic, or both, we’d love to see you there!
Sincerely,
Janice Parks

Mass (Location: Health Sciences Campus)
In commemoration of the Feast Day of our patron, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, in addition to Mass occurring on July 31 at 11:00AM at Lake Shore Campus in the Madonna della Strada Chapel, Mass will also take place at the Health Sciences Campus at 9:30AM CST in the Quiet Study (in the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing building).
Volunteering
In preparation for the upcoming Feast Day of St. Ignatius Mass and Picnic, there is an opportunity that will allow you to donate some of your time while still celebrating the festivities with fellow Loyolans. Faculty, Staff, and Retirees are encouraged to sign-up to assist with volunteer efforts at the Picnic such as providing support during the Bingo games, assisting with Shuttle Service and, at the end of the event, help with gathering materials so Facilities can return the items to Human Resources.
Human Resources is looking for assistance with staffing coverage for a variety of roles on July 31, 2025. Learn more: Volunteer Opportunities
