Liturgies

Whether you are Roman Catholic, practice another faith tradition, or are searching for spiritual meaning in your life, all members of the Loyola Health Sciences Campus community are invited to these communal celebrations of prayer and blessing.
If you are new to the area and would like assistance connecting to a local parish, church congregation, or other type of religious community, please reach out to the Ministry team at HSCMinistry@luc.edu. We are happy to provide you with resources and contacts, and to talk with you about your spiritual needs!
Upcoming Liturgies in the Gathering Room:
- Solemnity of All Saints
Tuesday, November 1 - 8:00 a.m. - Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
Thursday, December 8 - 8:00 a.m.
Ash Wednesday
Join with others from the Health Sciences Campus and Loyola University Medical Center to observe the start of the Lenten season, a time for many Christians marked by a more focused practice of prayer, fasting, and giving.
In 2023, Ash Wednesday will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 22. There will be numerous opportunities for communal prayer and the distribution of ashes.
Graduation Mass and Blessing of Graduates, Stritch School of Medicine
As an integral component of Graduation Weekend, all are invited to participate in this liturgy to honor graduates and their families, give thanks for the gifts received during one’s academic studies, and ask for God’s blessing upon future pursuits.
The Graduation Mass concludes with a special blessing of the graduates and symbolic passing of the light from physicians to the graduating students.
Mass for the SSOM Class of 2023 will be held Friday, May 12 at 4:00 p.m. in the Quiet Study.
