Derrick Bullie

Born and raised in Chicago, Derrick “Zain” Bullie has dedicated his life to growth and learning: 1) Learning how to help himself grow spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, emotionally, and socially, and 2) learning how to educate others on how to grow spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. Zain, a Black Muslim educator, has been a math teacher in Chicago Public Schools since 2007. Zain is committed to anti-racist education and to dismantling systems of oppression.

Jaime McLaughlin

Jaime McLaughlin

Jaime earned his B.S. in Accounting from Alcorn State University and began a career in international taxes with Arthur Andersen as a consultant for 12 years. As a mentor for Jr. Achievement Jaime was introduced to the classroom and eventually transitioned to become a fulltime middle school math teacher. He has taught Mathematics for 15 years in Chicago Public Schools and led multiple network and district wide initiatives with CPS Department of Math.

Martin Trejo

Martin Trejo

Martin Trejo is a High School Mathematics teacher in Chicago Public Schools where he has taught for three years. Martin graduated in Spring 2020 with a major in Secondary Education of Mathematics from UIC and a minor in Sociology. He currently lives in Logan Square. Martin's goal as an M2 Fellow is to strengthen students' racial and ethnic identities through motivating and engaging instructional practices as a culturally-informed educator.

Michael Rouse II

Michael Rouse II

Michael has taught courses ranging from 8th Grade Honors Algebra, Co-taught Algebra and AP Calculus for the past 13 years at Thornridge HS. He has 10 years of experience as teacher leader and then PD leader with the South Cook Math Initiative. He has served in multiple leadership roles on a district and building level and currently Co-Chairs the Districts Standards Based Grading Initiative and Sponsors the National Honor Society. Additionally, he is a Board Member for Flossmoor SD 161.

Ronald Wright
M2 Fellow 2023

Ronald Wright

Ron Wright, author of Responsible Money, earned a BS Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. After working in engineering and manufacturing he pursued his interest in financial services. After nearly a decade in financial services, Mr. Wright earned a MA Ed from Governors State University in 2011 and since been teaching elementary and middle school. His math students achieve at a high level due to his passionate belief in education. He enjoys family time, coaching sports, and walking his dog, Twix.
