Remote Scanning
This is generally the ideal situation for your PII scan. It is hands-off, and happens at night when you are away from your machine. The following day, you will receive a "Match Results" notification on your machine. For instructions on what to do when you see this notification, see PII Remediation.

Manual Scanning
- Using the Windows Start menu or Mac Spotlight, search for Spirion and click to run the program.
- Use the green "Start" button at the top left of the Spirion window to start the scan.
If you cannot find Spirion or it does not start, it may not be installed properly on your machine. Please see our Installation page, and contact the ITS Help Desk if you continue to have trouble.
