Training Sessions for Faculty

Hoonuit is an online, on demand, training site that offers over 50,000 tutorial videos on over 250 technology applications, including Microsoft and Adobe. Topics are subdivided into very small chunks, and presented in videos of one or two minutes, so learners can easily and quickly find the training they need on specific topics. Instructors can pull Hoonuit videos directly into their Sakai courses.

Panopto Logo

Panopto software provides an all-in-one interface to record screen content and video of the instructor simultaneously and can be used in classrooms on campus that are equipped with a built-in video recording system or from any PC or laptop.  The presenter has the option to record video or audio only along with PowerPoint and/or screen capture.

Sakai Logo

Sakai CLE is a an open-source system for collaboration, hence the acronym CLE (Collaborative Learning Environment). It can be used for LUC courses, research projects, student clubs, or any other group that has information they want to share with the larger LUC community.

Top Hat Training Page

Top Hat  is a web-based response platform. Top Hat provides a way to receive instant feedback from your students using devices they already own to increase student engagement. There are seven different questions types, discussion boards and the ability to create polling tournaments. Instructors can receive reports on daily attendance, student participation and student performance.

VoiceThread Logo

VoiceThread allows you to place collections of media like images, videos, documents, and presentations at the center of a conversation. These conversations are not live - they take place whenever and wherever it is convenient for people to participate. A VoiceThread allows people to have conversations and make comments using any mix of text, a microphone, a webcam, a telephone, or an uploaded audio file.

Zoom Logo

Zoom is a web conferencing solution that can be used to conduct synchronous online meetings and webinars. Faculty, staff, and students at Loyola can schedule and host meetings without a host license. Internal and external documentation is available, as well as training and consultation for faculty, staff, and students.
