Technology Training

ITRS provides technology training sessions for selected instructional technology tools throughout the year.

ITRS also offers one-on-one assistance and consultations throughout the year. Visit ITRS drop-in hours in person or virtually to work directly with ITRS staff.

Hoonuit 

Hoonuit is an online on-demand training site that offers over 50,000 tutorials on over 250 technology applications and subjects, including Microsoft and course design. Technology tutorials are organized by module series of short videos, so learners can easily and quickly access training on targeted subjects. Hoonuit tutorials can be directly integrated into Sakai courses, and learners can track their completion.

Panopto Logo

Panopto software provides an interface to record, edit, and share audiovisual content with the Loyola community and beyond, and is often used for producing lectures and storing video content. Lecture capture video of a presenter can be recorded in classrooms on campus that are equipped with a built-in video recording system, or from a personal computer or laptop. The presenter has the option to record video or audio, or along with slide media (such as PowerPoint) and/or screen capture.

Sakai Logo

Sakai Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE) is a an open-source system that serves as the learning management system for Loyola University Chicago. Sakai is used for LUC online, hybrid, and in-person courses, as well as collaborative project sites for research, student clubs, or any other groups within the larger LUC community.

Top Hat Training Page

Top Hat is a web-based response platform that facilitates instant feedback from your audience using mobile and personal devices to increase participant engagement. TopHat offers different questions types, discussion boards, and the ability to create polling tournaments. Instructors can use TopHat to take attendance, encourage student interaction with content, and generate analytics reports of performance.

VoiceThread Logo

VoiceThread allows users to place collections of media like images, videos, documents, and presentations at the center of an audiovisual conversation. These conversations are asynchronous and take place whenever and wherever it is convenient for participants to contribute. VoiceThread can be integrated into a Sakai sense, and allows for user comments and conversation using a mix of text, a microphone, a webcam, a telephone, or an uploaded audio file.

Zoom Logo

Zoom is a cloud conferencing solution that can be used to conduct synchronous online meetings, classes, and webinars. Faculty, staff, and students at Loyola can schedule and host meetings without a host license. Internal and external documentation resources, training sessions, and consultations for faculty, staff, and students are available through ITRS and Zoom.
