Orientation Victory Lap

Your roadmap to Orientation is complete, but there is more scenery to take in before starting your academic journey at Loyola. Learn about Microsoft Office 365 a fully integrated suite of programs that includes e-mail and Microsoft Office. Take the time to casually tour with Sakai, your dashboard to your classes.  Visit roadside wonders like Digital Media Services to discover equipment, training, and services available to all students. Tour the additional information from the University Information Security Office and from Campus Safety making sure you are safe anywhere anytime!

MICROSOFT OFFICE 365

  • Download Microsoft Office 365 on up to five PCs or Macs, five tables and five phones.
  • Access full mobile versions of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

DIGITAL MEDIA SERVICES

  • Digital Media Services (DMS) provides support to a number of technology resources for the Loyola Community. From video production equipment to large format poster printing, from multimedia lab locations and software to online applications and resources, we are dedicated to promoting success inside and outside of the classroom.
    • DMS maintains over 30 computer lab and kiosk locations across the Lake Shore, Water Tower and Health Science campuses. These range from open-access spaces, high traffic kiosk locations, to shared departmental only locations. Visit our Lab Locations.
    • View the current list of software applications in our computer labs here.
    • Review our Printing & Posters instructions for on-campus printing.
    • Browse and Reserve equipment from the Equipment Loan Program.
    • Visit our WTC Vocal Booth for podcasting, narration and dialog recordings.
    • Visit TechConnect for software and hardware discounts.

SAKAI

  • Sakai is a community source system for collaboration, also known as a Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE). IT can be used for LUC courses, research projects, student clubs, or any other group that has information they want to share with the larger LUC community.
  • Sakai includes course sites and project sites.
    • Students are assigned to course sites in Sakai via LOCUS.
    • Project sites can be created by faculty, staff, or students.
  • Visit ITRS' Sakai resources page for information about this learning management system and step-by-step instructions for use.
